Though Thomas Edison did some questionable things in the name of “science”, we’ve gotta give it to him for inventing the phonograph so people could listen to books using it. It’s a funny thought to imagine how Plautus or Terence would reel at hearing bodiless voices acting out their tragicomedies, but here we are!
